Drive Traffic & Sales with Coupons
While lots of industry buzz has been generated by the Daily Deal sites, many merchants are overlooking a much easier (and cheaper) way to drive traffic: Coupons.
As the holidays approach, everyone is looking to save some money and coupon clipping is going mainstream. Coupons are a major reason that shoppers follow brands on Facebook after all. Another place shoppers look for deals is on sites like www.retailmenot.com or www.couponcabin.com
On both sites it is free for a merchant to post a coupon so there really is no reason not to give it a try. Yes, some customers who are willing to pay full price might go out and get themselves a coupon deal, but many shoppers also start on the coupon sites. It is an advertising expense that you only pay when you make a sale.
I recommend getting started by posting a time limited coupon and tracking the results both in coupon redemption and in click-throughs. You should also be able to view the shoppers history to find out if it is being used by new or existing shoppers.
