SiteCM users come from a wide range of backgrounds and skill levels.  Since SiteCM comes with training and support, we had to make it easy enough for a novice user, flexible enough for a power user, and hard for anyone to make a mistake!

One of the key benefits of SiteCM's Image Management component is the unique way we handle images.  In an ideal world, everyone would create and upload images optimized for how they will be used on their web pages.  Since source images can be loaded to the content management system at almost any size, SiteCM prevents inexperienced users from negatively impacting site performance by using a 2 MB image when a 20 KB image is required.  When an image is used on a web page at anything other than its original size, SiteCM creates and saves a version of the image at the required size so your pages always load quickly.

Other features to ensure a quality end product include:

• Prevent the dreaded image squish.  Simple controls for the image properties ensure that images are scaled, not squished.
• Prevent accidental deletion. Images still included on your pages cannot be deleted so you will never end up with an "image not available" message.
• Control who can upload images.  In multi-user versions of SiteCM acess to the Image Manager can be controlled so that only your designer or most qualified staff member can upload images.  Any user can access them, but only someone who knows what they are doing can make them available.
