Multiple headers

To give your site more variety, your designer can produce multiple page headers that load randomly every time someone visits a page.  These headers can contain unique images and messages that reinforce your branding.

Venture Kamloops uses two headers to convey business and lifestyle benefits of the region. If you refresh a page or navigate through the site, the header will change.

Multiple Templates

With SiteCM Web Content Management you can also have different templates for different sections of your site.  These templates can even include unique style sheets specifying different colour schemes and fonts, allowing you to effectively brand each section of your site.

• The Kamloops Indian Band (designed by SiteCM Reseller Koch Ink) uses a unique template for their conference.
• The BC & Yukon Chamber of Mines also uses a template for their annual Roundup conference.

Incorporating images into navigation design

Using images as navigation items reduces the effectiveness of SiteCM because it takes away your ability to add and change your navigation without involving your designer.  Style Sheets provide the ability to have background images for any link you create and can generate many roll over effects.  Image navigation links are best suited to permanent sections of your site such as “Contact”, “Home” or stable departments.

• The Interior Science and Innovation Council uses image roll overs with animated GIF's to add motion to their site.  If they want to add a new top level page, they need to contact their designer to create the images.
• The Grasslands Conservation Council of BC uses two image links in their page header for the Home and Contact Us links.

Non-conforming homepage

Many clients want a bold homepage message and it is possible with SiteCM to have a homepage that does not conform to the rest of your site layout.  This can be a Flash movie used as a splash page, a custom graphic and text, or just a very precise layout that is beyond the capabilities of the web content manager.  Consideration needs to be given to how the page will be updated.

• Both Thompson Rivers University and the Nicola Valley Institute of Technology use a static homepage that cannot be edited through SiteCM.
• The Kamloops Airport (designed by reseller Koch Ink) has a right margin that only appears on the homepage.
• Our site, has a home page that does not have either the left or right margin.

Flash

Flash can be used in your site framework and from within the SiteCM page editor if you want to have flash in your content area. 

• Communication Solutions has a non conforming homepage controlled by SiteCM that incorporates Flash and a static image.
• CKRV The River uses Flash as part of their home page header

Nested Pages

To allow clients to have editable content in the left or right site margin, we can nest a SiteCM page within your site framework.  When combined with multiple templates, this allows for a lot of variety and targeted content.

• Our news in the right margin is controlled by a seperate SiteCM page for each template we use on the site.
